Bodybuilding Supplements & Nutrition (2)
You'll save tons of time with the free bodybuilding meal plans further down on this page.
But first, a little recap on muscle nutrition.
I hope by now that you've learned that muscle nutrition is one of the most important aspects when it comes to packing on lean body mass.
You see, the amount and type of food that you consume not only contributes to the amount of muscle tissue you will grow, but also the speed at which it grows. In order to build significant amounts of muscle mass quickly, you have to eat a surplus of calories every single day. This means that if your body normally burns 2000 calories each day, in order to build muscle mass you will have to consume as much as 400-1000 calories over this number. The actual number of calories depends on genetic factors such as your metabolism, body type etc.
The article "How Much Food To Build Muscle" will show you how to estimate the number of calories you need to consume to build muscle mass.
In addition to consuming an adequate number of calories, you have to eat the right muscle building foods, since your body needs both the calories as well as the vitamins and minerals in the foods to help repair and build new muscle tissue.
Simply put, you have to eat more calories than your body burns each day, and these calories must come from nutrient dense, quality whole food sources.
That's easier said than done however, because the next step is figuring out all of the foods you'll need to eat, calculating the number of calories in each of them, and designing a muscle building meal plan to follow.
But here's how you can save yourself tons of time!
After you've estimated your daily caloric intake for building muscle mass, download one of the free bodybuilding meal plans below. Before you even consider forking over your hard earned cash for any bodybuilding supplements, PLEASE watch the video below. If you think or already know the supplement industry is scamming you – wait until you watch it – you haven’t seen or heard anything yet…
Before you watch the video, I'd like to start off by saying that by no means am I completely against bodybuilding supplements. I've used certain supplements, and will continue to do so for years to come. The problem is (and I think most natural bodybuilders would agree), that there are only a handful of supplements that have actually been scientifically proven to work. Furthermore over the last 10 years, only about 5 supplements (and there are literally thousands on the market) have consistently shown themselves to be worthy through "real life usage" from natural bodybuilders, and athletes.
Now checkout the video - it's gonna blow you away!
Wow! Christian Boeving is admitting that essentially all of the ads you see in supplement magazines are bogus. Even though the may use the products that they are promoting, these guys have been using steroids for most of their life. The average person is not going to know that, and may actually assume that their body's look the way they do becuse they have been using the supplememts that they are endorsing. Very misleading to say the least...
Here is Vince Delmonte's take on this video:
"Interestingly, it seemed like this was the first time Christian was ever asked this question as his moral compass started spinning. I do respect him for being honest and not beating around the bush.
My main issue is that a guy like Christian (he’s just one example) may be inspiring thousands of young guys to look like him, but he is also misleading thousands by assuming everyone is trusting and unassuming. He cleverly puts his moral compass back in line by saying
“…you should be smarter than that.”
And he’s absolutely right, you and I should be smarter and not obsessed with instant gratification and supplements that promise to work like fairy dust.
An intersting side note - apparently after Christian appeared in the documentry Muscletech, a bodybuilding supplement company, dropped its sponsorship for "breaching the company's rules by discussing his steroid use."
The Bottom Line...
Don't believe what you see in supplement ads. There are only a handful of bodybuilding supplements that have been around for the long-haul, and have proven themselves. Stick with these supplements only, for the time being.
